Give love a helping hand

Without volunteers, no Aarhus Pride. We need YOUR help on the event to make the pride even better.

We need all available hands! There’s a lot to be done.

We will do our best to accommodate your wishes for assignment(s) on the day. If you volunteer we will provide you with a T-shirt and catering. Furthermore you have free access to Pride AfterParty! (If you are under 18 of age, sadly we can not give you admission to the party, but we will find another thank-you-gift for you.)

If you would like to volunteer register here. (Might not work on a smart phone.)
(The registration form is in Danish, but should be quite simple to figure. Any doubts at all send and email to madsharley@aarhuspride.dk)

Jobs to do

Depot team morning + evening (Lagerhold morgen / Lagerhold aften)
We need 4-6 people, who can lift heavy things from our depot to a lorry, and from the lorry on to the site in the morning. In the evenint everything goes back – in reverse order.
The morning team and the evening team are not necessarily the same people. Both teams will spend 3-4 hours on the job.

Production set up / pull down (Produktion opstilling / Produktion nedtagning)
Setup in the morning / Pull down in the evening.
Tents, benches, bouncy castles, decorations, tables and so on. The job is on site. Set up from about 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and pull down from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The morning team and the evening team are not necessarily the same people. Both teams will spend 3-4 hours on the job.

Stage (Scene)
Heavy work for two people who are not afraid of heights. The job is on site both morning and evening. Set up 8 a.m. and pull down at 6 p.m. You will spend around 3-4 hours on the job all together,

If you have experience in setting up stages, please let us know in the comment box at the end of the questionnaire.

Pride Guard (Paradevagt)
The Pride Guards’ job is walk in front of, next to and behind the parade, and make sure everybody gets to the PrideLounge in one piece. You will also make sure that the parade doesn’t break apart on the tour through town.
The job starts at Bispetorv and ends on site / PrideLounge. The time estimated on the job is 3-4 hours in total.

Runners / Sweepers
Runners are the connection between PrideLounge and the parade. It’s best to have a bicycle – or be able to run very fast!
Sweepers make sure that Bispetorv (Parade starting site) is nice and clean after the parade has left the site.

PrideShop
At PrideLounge we have a little shop open all day. Normally we have two teams; one from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and one from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The Children’s Corner (Børnehjørnet)
Here we need creative people to make the kids feel welcome at Aarhus Pride. We need people to do face paint (animals and such), help make a drawing, laughs and giggles or whatever you’d like to bring to the table.
The Children’s Corner is not a day-care, but an activity for families with kids. You do not have responsibility for the children. This is an all day job, but of course you will have the opportunity to take a break and enjoy Aarhus Pride yourselves.

LoungeService
PrideLounge needs to be clean and tidy and toilets need to be checked, both during and after the Pride. At the same time, you will be the eyes and ears of Aarhus Pride and help make sure everybody on site has a good time.
Normally we have two teams; one from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and one from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Social Media Reporter:
Help spread the love and bring Aarhus Pride to the people. We need a couple of dedicated SoMe-types to document the day on Instragram, Facebook and so on.

Bartenders: Gbar’s LoungeBar
The bar is longest, maybe hardest, but definitely fun job. You do not need to be an experienced bartender, but you should be able to carry a case of beer more than once, and have some knowledge of Danish.
The job includes set up (app. 10  a.m.) and pull down (done app. 7 p.m.) of the bars. The busiest time is between 1. p.m. and 4 p.m. Of course you are able to take breaks and enjoy Aarhus Pride yourself.
